Poetry and Dance

Stay tuned for dates

This 5hr workshop over two days explores poetry and its relationship with movement.  Bring your own original poem, a poem you love, or choose one on offer in the workshop.  We’ll work on movement generation and crafting considering rhythm, structure, and meaning, and each participant will be guided in creating (or beginning) their own short movement work.

This workshop is designed to open your awareness to the possibilities in connecting words and rhythm with movement, find inspiration and discover your own interests, and help expand your creative toolbox.

Pre-Requisites: Curiosity, any ability to move, and a desire to create!  Movers of all levels and abilities are welcome, including those with mobility limitations, advanced dancers, and professional artists. Those who require inclusion support are encouraged to register early so we can do our best to accommodate your needs.

Ages: 14+

Health and Safety: Public Health protocols in place at the time of the workshop will be followed. These will be communicated to participants prior to the first day.

What to Bring: Please bring something to write/draw with, something to write/draw on, and optionally any poetry that inspires you (including your own).
